Gabriella Yanes was born in Venezuela in 1995. She successfully finished her undergraduate degree as a Clinical Psychologist in 2020 and decided to move out of her country a year later. She resides in Madrid, Spain, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Psychoanalysis and Culture Theory from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2022, and is currently focusing on her postgraduate specialization: Lacanian Psychoanalysis.

She has been working throughout different jobs since she first began her career back in Venezuela. From teaching English as a second language to working as an executive assistant in an art gallery, she has been in touch with different professional and life experiences that have led her towards her decision in pursuing Psychoanalysis. During her Master’s degree, she introduced herself into the academic and research work where she found a great interest about the applicability of Psychoanalysis to other disciplines such as art, literature, politics, and philosophy. Her thesis was based on the poetic function of psychoanalysis, which she plans on taking into further investigations with a PhD in philosophy as soon she finishes her postgraduate degree.

Gabriella has been working as a clinical psychologist for the last two years, she has experience as a mental health specialist. However, her true passion relies on research and writing. She hopes to share her passion for literature, poetry, and art not only through a psychoanalytical perspective, but also as a person who has a keen and human interest in our culture and society.
